Fishing Competitions

The Club hosts three major fishing tournaments each year with the annual fishing competition in July being the most prestigious event.

The tournaments are open to members and non members and entry fees are kept to a minimum to encourage family participation. All club fishing tournaments place a high importance on junior participation.

The Dundee Coast has a reputation for the best blue water fishing easily accessed from Darwin. If you love catching big, hard fighting sport fish then you will love Dundee. Big black jewfish are a favourite target species and it is not uncommon to catch jewies up to 30 pound. Golden snapper are also a magnificent catch and are often caught when targeting jewfish.

Sport fishing options for pelagic fish including mackerel, tuna, queenfish and trevally are first class and are a challenge for even the most experienced angler. Beach and bank fishing is possible at Dundee. The club operates all fishing competitions to the rules and guidelines set down by Australian National Sports Fishing Association (ANSA).

The boat ramp at Dundee Beach provides a tractor service 7 days a week to launch and retrieve boats which makes fishing at Dundee an easy option. Club members are more than happy to extend their fishing knowledge to new members and visitors who may not be familiar with the area.
